We are always keen to hear from hardworking, fun, customer oriented people looking for an island adventure!
The oyster farm and farm shop are located in American River, just 30 minutes from all major towns on the island, making it a great base for touring beautiful Kangaroo Island.
Our farm shop is open 11-3 daily, staff are rostered on depending on seasonality and skills. The farm normally works from 8am – 4pm. There is potential to also pick up cleaning and hospitality shifts at other businesses in the town around these hours too. We can help you organise this!

About American River
American River is a small seaside town just 30 minutes from where the ferry docks on Kangaroo Island. It has a long maritime history with industry centred around the working wharf. American River was the birthplace of tourism on Kangaroo Island and is renowned for its fishing, birdlife and of course oyster farming!

American River has a great campground and a range of accommodation options in the town.
Food and Fuel
We have a post office/general store and a community shed (dining and bar) in the town. Fuel and supermarkets are located at Parndana, Penneshaw and Kingscote. There are a few restaurants providing options for dinner in and around the town.
Transport
You will need your own vehicle to get around and see the island.
